Mercer, Pennsylvania’s Adam Bies makes threats of violence against FBI via Gab

Adam Bies, 46, of Mercer, Pennsylvania, United States is a big fan of Donald Trump, 76. Bies has lived in Mercer since 2016, the same year Trump became the 45th U.S. president and Andrew Torba, 36, and Ekrem Büyükkaya, 29, founded the alt-tech microblogging and social networking service Gab.

Based in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, Gab was publicly launched in May 2017 and became known for its far-right userbase. In June 2021, Bies joined the social network using the name Adam Kenneth Campbell and the handle BlankFocus.

On August 8, 2022, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida, USA. On August 10, 2022, Bies wrote on Gab, “Every single piece of s— who works for the FBI in any capacity, from the director down to the janitor who cleans their f—— toilets deserves to die. You’ve declared war on us and now it’s open season on YOU.”

“HEY FEDS,” Bies also wrote in another Gab post on August 10, 2022. “We the people cannot WAIT to water the trees of liberty with your blood. I’ll be waiting for you to kick down my door.”

On August 11, 2022, the FBI National Threat Operations Section Social Media Exploitation team received a tip from Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) Domestic Terrorism Threat Monitor about Bies’ Gab posts. On the same day, he appeared to compare the FBI to the Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS) and the Soviet Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (KGB) in a Gab post.

“I’ll shoot an SS officer in the head just as quick as I’d shoot a KGB officer in the head,” Bies wrote. “Keep that in mind. There are plenty of other letters in the alphabet. Police state scum are police state scum. Period.”

“I’m ready for the inevitable,” Bies wrote in another Gab post on August 11, 2022. “Once you accept reality for what it is instead of what you want or to be, you can move on with your life and get prepared for the inevitable outcome.”

“I already know I’m going to die at the hands of these piece of s— child molesting law enforcement scumbags,” Bies said of FBI agents. “My only goal is to kill more of them before I drop. I will not spend one second of my life in their custody.”

At around 9:00 a.m. that day, Trump’s supporter Ricky Walter Shiffer, 42, of Omaha, Nebraska, USA tried to breach the FBI‘s field office of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, fled and was chased by officers. It ended in Wilmington, Ohio where Shiffer exchanged gunfire with the officers and was fatally shot.

On August 12, 2022, Bies took to Gab to comment on Shiffer’s attempted attack on the FBI field office in Cincinnati. The Mercer resident wrote, “I hope everyone at the FBI has had time to say goodbye to their families.”

“This is going to be a daily occurrence from now on,” Bies continued. “The war is FINALLY underway. However, why the f— did this moron use a NAIL GUN when he had a f—— rifle?”

Later on August 12, 2022, Bies was arrested in Mercer and charged with influencing, impeding or retaliating against federal law enforcement officers. On August 15, 2022, he made his initial video appearance before Magistrate Judge Lisa Pupo Lenihan in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh.

If convicted, Bies faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. He remains in custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for August 18, 2022.
