Jett “Fighter” Grande, 24, of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada is the new champion of Flogger Series in the lightweight division. He won the title at “Flogger Series 8“, which marked his debut in the international mixed martial arts promotion based in Pakistan.

Grande was supposed to make his Flogger Series debut at “Flogger Series 7” on June 12, 2021 and fight Nasratullah Nikzad, 25, of Kabul, Afghanistan for the promotion’s vacant super lightweight championship title. It was supposed to be the Canadian athlete’s first professional MMA fight.

However, the fight was cancelled amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. “Flogger Series 7” was held in Islamabad, Pakistan on February 13, 2022 without Grande on the card.

Featuring eight bouts, “Flogger Series 8” was held at the Pakistan-China Friendship Center in Islamabad on August 14, 2022. In the main event of the evening, Grande fought Nasratullah Sharifi, 22, of Kabul for the then vacant Flogger Series Lightweight Championship title.

Both Grande and Sharifi entered the cage as undefeated fighters. After three five-minute rounds, the referee raised the hand of the Canadian contender, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

The victory marked Grande’s first professional MMA title and improved his professional MMA record to 4 wins, 0 loss and 1 draw. On the other hand, Sharifi now has 2 wins and 1 loss.
