Canada vs Bahrain: Brad Katona, Gamzat Magomedov for BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship belt

Gamzat Magomedov, 27, of Bahrain will challenge BRAVE Combat Federation‘s reigning bantamweight world champion Brad “Superman” Katona, 30, of Canada at “BRAVE CF 63“. The defending champion is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter.

Featuring five bouts, “BRAVE CF 63” will be held at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on October 19, 2022. The BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship title bout between Katona and Magomedov is the co-main event of the evening.

Brad Katona

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Katona made his professional mixed martial arts debut on September 3, 2014. He won two of his four UFC fights from 2018 to 2019, went on hiatus in 2020 and defeated two BRAVE CF opponents in 2021 namely Borislav Nikolić of Serbia and Bair Shtepin of Russia.

From 2020 to March 10, 2022, the BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship title was vacant. On March 11, 2022, Katona won the title by defeating Hamza Kooheji of Bahrain via split decision at “BRAVE CF 57”.

Winning the title improved Katona’s professional MMA record to 11 wins and 2 losses. Magomedov currently has 8 wins and 1 loss.

Katona is 5’6″ tall. Magomedov is 5’8″ tall.

Gamzat Magomedov

Magomedov is an alumnus of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation. He made his professional MMA debut in 2014.

When Magomedov joined BRAVE CF in 2018, he defeated Zechariah Lange of the United States then lost to J.P. Buys of South Africa. From July 2019 to August 2022, Magomedov defeated five opponents in the promotion namely Ian Cleary of Ireland, Harold Banario of the Philippines, Matiss Zaharovs of Latvia, Mochamed Machaev of Austria and Borislav Nikolic of Serbia.
