Corlunda McGinister of Helena-West Helena, Phillips County, Arkansas, United States has died. She was 21.
In 2020, McGinister entered the Phillips Community College of the University of Kansas in Helena-West Helena to pursue an associate’s degree. At around 5:45 p.m. on December 21, 2022, she allegedly got into a confrontation with a female employee in the customer service department of a Walmart in Richland, Rankin County, Mississippi, USA.
McGinister pulled out a gun and held the employee hostage. The victim’s name was not released.
Two Richland Police Department officers tried to talk down McGinister. She was hiding with the employee behind a corner when she yelled out that she wanted a news anchor there.

“We’re not doing this, good cop!” McGinister yelled back. The officers entered the store as she continued to scream.

She, Corlunda, did not say “good cop”. She said “crooked cop”. Big difference. I watched the video several times on different news reports.
