Did Houston’s Joshua Aaron Richardson stab Terrance Omar Plummer Jr. in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 2010?

Joshua Aaron Richardson, 41, of Houston, Texas, United States is a former soldier stationed at Fort Bragg, a military installation of the U.S. Army in North Carolina, USA. He is accused of killing a military brat named Terrance Omar Plummer Jr.

On May 31, 2010, Fayetteville Police Department officers found Plummer dead inside an abandoned apartment on Rhew Street in Bonnie Doone, Fayetteville, North Carolina. He had at least 31 wounds and the weapon penetrated his lungs, which caused fatal hemorrhaging.

When Plummer was murdered, Richardson was an active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Bragg. Investigators developed forensic leads but none led them to the suspect.

With the recent advancements in forensic analysis technology, the evidence collected at scene where Plummer was murdered was tested again. Detectives were able to link Richardson as the suspect.

On February 7, 2023, officers with the homicide unit of the Fayetteville Police Department arrested Richardson at his home in Houston. He was charged with first-degree murder.

Richardson is being held without bail in the Harris County Jail in Houston. He will be extradited to Fayetteville.

The investigation is still active. The U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigations division at Fort Bragg, the Wharton County Texas Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Houston Police Department’s Homicide Unit assisted the Fayetteville Police Department in the investigation and apprehension of Richardson.
