“Si Tendangan Maut” Jeka Saragih, 28, of Simalungun, North Sumatra, Indonesia signed an Ultimate Fighting Championship contract on February 8, 2023. This made him the first ever Indonesian mixed martial artist to become an official UFC fighter.
Saragih was born in Bah Pasunsang, Raya, Simalungun. He is 5’8″ tall and he competes in the lightweight division.
In 2013, Saragih started his wushu training. He went on to become an apprentice at Batam Fighter Club in Bengkong, Batam City, Riau Islands.
In 2016, Saragih made his professional MMA debut. In 2017, he became the lightweight champion of One Pride MMA.
On June 9, 2022, Saragih competed in the lightweight tournament quarterfinal of “Road to UFC“. He knocked out Pawan Maan Singh, now 36, of Lucknow, Uttar Prasedh, India via spinning back fist in Kallang, Singapore.
In the semifinal round on October 23, 2022, Saragih knocked out “The Danger” Bin Kiwon, now 31, of Seoul, South Korea via punch in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In the final round on February 4, 2023, he lost to “King of Lions” Anshul Jubli, 28, of Uttarakhand, India via technical knockout via punches and elbows at “UFC Vegas 68” in Enterprise, Nevada, United States.
Losing to Jubli downgraded Saragih’s professional MMA record to 13 wins and 3 loses. The victory made Jubli the second UFC fighter from India.
