What Doraville, Georgia’s Miles Bryant did to Norcross’s Susana Morales

Susana Morales of Norcross, Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States has died. She was 16.

Morales attended Meadowcreek High School in Norcross. She was last seen in Norcross on the evening of July 26, 2022.

A location app showed that Morales was walking in the direction of her home between 10:07 p.m. and 10:21 p.m. on July 26, 2022. Her phone died and shut off after that.

Earlier day, Miles Bryant, 22, of Norcross gave a false report that his personal car had been broken into and a gun had been taken from inside. At the time, he was employed as a police officer in Doraville, DeKalb County, Georgia.

While off-duty, Bryant allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered Morales and dumped her naked body in the woods. She was last seen wearing a yellow spaghetti-strapped shirt, light blue jeans and white crocs.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on February 6, 2023, a passerby spotted human bones in a wooded area in Dacula, Gwinnett County near Drowning Creek Road off of Highway 316, which is roughly 20 miles from the street where Morales was last seen in Norcross. On February 8, 2023, Gwinnett County officials announced that dental records confirmed that the remains belong to Morales.

On February 13, 2023, Bryant was served felony arrest warrants by the Gwinnett County Police Department. On February 14, 2023, he was charged with  concealing the death of Morales and false report of a crime.

The Doraville Police Department fired Bryant after his arrest. He is being held at the Gwinnett Detention Center in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County without bond.
