Drew Barrymore, 48, will host 2023 MTV Movie and TV Awards at the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, California, United States on May 7, 2023. The awards show will air on MTV internationally in more than 150 countries.
The executive producers for the show are Bruce Gillmer, Wendy Plaut, Vanessa Whitewolf, Jesse Ignjatovic and Barb Bialkowski. The executives in charge of production are Jackie Barba and Alicia Portugal while the music talent executive is Lisa Lauricella.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards was first awarded on June 10, 1992. The awards show was hosted by Adam DeVine in 2017, Tiffany Haddish in 2018, Zachary Levi in 2019, Vanessa Hudgens in 2020, Leslie Jones and Nikki Glaser in 2021 and Hudgens and Tayshia Adams in 2022.
From 2017 to 2019, Barrymore played Sheila Hammond in “Santa Clarita Diet”. Created by Victor Fresco, the Netflix series also starred Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson and Skyler Gisondo.
Barrymore served as a judge in “The World’s Best” in 2019 and “Beat Bobby Flay” in 2020. Her own talk show “The Drew Barrymore Show” premiered on September 14, 2020.
“The Drew Barrymore Show” was nominated for Best Talk/Topical Show at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. It lost to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon“.
