Jeremy Sykes, 20, of Tempe, Maricopa County, Arizona, United States allegedly has a history of violent behavior. He has prior arrests for criminal damage, first-degree criminal trespassing and aggravated assault on a correctional officer.
Just after 2:30 p.m. on April 15, 2023, Sykes was found naked at a baptism fountain at One Life Church in Mesa, Maricopa County. He was just sitting at the fountain, refusing to leave.
Later, Sykes grabbed a blanket and left. But Mesa Police Department officers found him nearby, still naked and holding a blanket.
The officers arrested Sykes and took him to a holding facility where he refused to take a mug shot. He threw his sock a male detention officer.
When the officer approached Sykes, the Tempe resident punched officer in the head. The officer had a laceration cut near his eyebrow.
Another officer tried to intervened and was also punched by Sykes. The officer suffered a small laceration to his bottom lip.
Sykes was charged with criminal trespass, indecent exposure, resisting arrest and aggravated assault. Due to his prior felony warrants, he was deemed non-bailable.
