Police officers in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, United States arrested James Shearer, 47, on April 27, 2023. He is accused of messaging who he thought was a girl, 15, via online chat.

Unbeknownst to Shearer, he was actually communicating with an undercover officer posing as a girl. He allegedly sent explicit messages to the perceived teenage girl.

Later, Shearer agreed to meet the perceived teenage girl for sexual acts. When he appeared at the agreed location, he was arrested without incident by officers from the Human Exploitation Unit and West Patrol of the San Antonio Police Department.

The department did not reveal whether or not Shearer is a San Antonio resident. He was charged with online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony.

In other news, a fight brought out between two individuals during Fiesta De Los Reyes, a Fiesta event at Market Square in San Antonio at around 10:30 p.m. on April 27, 2023. One of them pulled out a gun and shot the other one in the chest.

Ambulance took the victim, a man in his 20s, to Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio where he was later listed in critical condition. The San Antonio Police Department is searching for the shooter and continuing to investigate.
