Anntonia Porsild, 26, of Nakhon Ratchasima, Isan, Thailand has been crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2023. She is set to represent her home country in a grand slam international beauty pageant for the second time.
Born in India to her Danish father Morten Porsild and her Thai mother Tanradee “Nee” Porsild, Anntonia is fluent in English and Thai. Growing up, she lived in several countries including Thailand, India, Vietnam, Denmark and Spain.
On September 25, 2019, Anntonia was crowned Miss Supranational Thailand 2019 at The Bazaar Theater in Bangkok, Thailand. On December 6, 2019, she represented Thailand at Miss Supranational 2019, competed against 76 other candidates at the Międzynarodowe Centrum Kongresowe w Katowicach in Katowice, Poland and won the title.
Amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Anntonia was not able to crown her successor after reigning as Miss Supranational 2019 for one year. On August 21, 2021, she crowned Miss Supranational 2021 Chanique Rabe of Namibia in Nowy Sącz, Małopolska, Poland.
On December 11, 2022, Anntonia graduated from Stamford International University in Bangkok with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations. On August 20, 2023, she represented Nakhon Ratchasima at Miss Universe Thailand 2023, competed against 52 other candidates at the MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi, Thailand and won the title.
On November 18, 2023, Anntonia will represent Thailand at Miss Universe 2023 in San Salvador, El Salvador. If she wins, she will become the first beauty queen to win two grand slam international beauty pageants.
Aside from Miss Universe and Miss Supranational, there are four other grand slam international beauty pageants for females namely Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Grand International. R’Bonney Gabriel, 29, of the United States is the reigning Miss Universe 2022 and Andrea Aguilera, 22, of Ecuador is the reigning Miss Supranational 2023.
Currently, Thailand has 13 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Apasra Hongsakula in 1965 and Porntip Nakhirunkanok in 1988. The most recent one was in 2020 when Amanda Obdam finished in the Top 10.
