Who is Norma Hale?

  1. She is 2 years younger than her husband Ronald “Ron” E. Hale.
  2. In 1995, she gave birth to Audrey Elizabeth Hale. She has another son named Henry Scott Hale.
  3. In May 2014, she took to Facebook to share a photo of herself with Audrey and Scott. In the caption, she wrote, “Mother’s Day 2014. I get to be these awesome kids’ Mom!”
  4. In August 2015, she took to Facebook to share the notes Audrey wrote to Audrey’s professors. Audrey attended The Covenant School and the Nossi College of Art, which are both in Nashville. In one of the notes, Audrey wrote to one teacher who lost a son in a car accident in 2014, “Don’t ever let anything or anyone steal your joy. You have a reason and a purpose to be here.”
  5. On March 15, 2017, she took to Facebook to praise Audrey and share that a Nossi College of Art instructor recommended Audrey for an awards competition.
  6. On October 6, 2017, she took to Facebook to share Audrey and Henry’s childhood photos with a caption, “Just grateful today to be the Mom of these 2 awesome kids!”
  7. On February 21, 2018, she shared a petition on Facebook from the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation urging lawmakers to make large-capacity gun magazines illegal. The foundation is for the 26 people fatally shot by Adam Lanza, 26, on December 14, 2012 at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA.
  8. On March 8, 2018, she shared a petition on Facebook that stated “Keep Guns Out of School”, which appeared to be from the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation.
  9. On January 28, 2019, she shared on Facebook that she found a devotional book and loaned it to Audrey.
  10. Even after turning 18, Audrey lived with her and Ron in their house in Nashville. She and Ron knew that Audrey had a weapon at one time and told Audrey to sell it. Unbeknownst to her and Ron, Audrey legally purchased seven weapons between October 20, 2020 and June 6, 2022 and hid them in their house.
  11. In June 2022, her son Henry joined Spencer Stuart in Chicago, Illinois, USA as a law clerk.
  12. On March 27, 2023, Audrey was fatally shot by police officers Michael Collazo and Rex Engelbert at The Covenant School in Green Hills, Nashville after Audrey fatally shot six people inside the school. After the shooting, she told ABC News, “I think I lost my daughter today.”
  13. In January 2024, she turned 63.
