In June 1983, William Roth Jr. was arrested for a murder in Texas after a police officer recognized him while hitchhiking. Roth confessed to a previous assault on Alan Douglas Livingston, but investigators could not locate Livingston. In 2022, Livingston's remains were discovered in his vehicle. Roth remains in a nursing home.
