Marcelle “Marcy” West of Washougal, Clark County, Washington, United States has died. She was 48.

West’s husband Kevin West, 49, is a battalion chief of the fire department of Camas, Clark County and Washougal. At 4:27 a.m. on January 8, 2024, he called 911 and told first responders she was having a seizure.

Medics arrived at the couple’s residence in Washougal and performed life-saving measures. At 5:11 a.m., Marcy was pronounced dead.

The Washougal Police Department handed over the case to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office because of a conflict of interest related to Kevin’s job at the fire department. Investigators learned that he and Marcy were experiencing marital and financial problems.

On March 20, 2024, the medical examiner ruled Marcy’s death a homicide. Her cause of death is asphyxia with blunt trauma to the neck.

On March 22, 2024, Kevin was arrested. He is accused of fatally strangling and Marcy.

Kevin was booked into the Clark County Jail in Vancouver, Clark County. He was charged with first-degree murder.
