Sheldon “Shelly” Finkel, 75, of the United States is one of the leaders in the boxing industry who reacted to the announcement about the pioneering boxing summit Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa (KHK) Sports and Mack The Knife (MTK) Global will host in Bahrain in September 2020. The boxing and music manager and promoter expressed his excitement about the upcoming event.

KHK Sports is a vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, 30, of Bahrain. He is his home country’s first deputy president of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Bahrain Olympic Committee president and the BRAVE Combat Federation founder.

Prior to the announcement of the boxing summit, KHK Sports appointed MTK Global co-founder Daniel Kinahan, 42, of Ireland as a special advisor. He has been instrumental in securing some of the biggest global events in the sport and as advisor for Top Rank in the MENA region, he has expertise and connections that will strengthen the KHK Sports brand and immediately expand its international reach.

Finkel is very excited about Bahrain’s interest in developing boxing on an international level. He said so long as it is safe to do so, he is “very much looking forward to accepting Daniel, MTK Global and KHK Sports’ invitation to attend the inaugural Global Leaders’ Summit in the Kingdom this September.”

In 2010, Finkel was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Currently, he serves as the chairman of strategy and entertainment for LiveStyle, a live events conglomerate based in Los Angeles, California, USA.

“It is truly great to see a leader like His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa pave the way for boxing in the region and no doubt, with the support of the summit’s leaders will shape the future for the sport in the Middle East,” Finkel said. “It’s been great working with Daniel thus far and I look forward to continuing this relationship and know that this summit is a great move for the industry.”
