Amanda Seales, Terry Crews discuss black supremacy, white supremacy

Terry Crews believes that Americans need white people to defeat white supremacy. Battling it without them will result to black supremacy, according to the “America’s Got Talent” host said.

Many of Crews’ fellow African-Americans did not agree with this. One of them is “The Real” co-host Amanda Seales.

Aside from teaching Crews about white supremacy, Seales also criticized him for not defending Gabrielle Union, who served as an “AGT” Season 14 judge along with Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Julianne Hough.

On June 4, 2020, Union filed a harassment complaint with California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) via power attorney Bryan Freedman. Named in the complaint were Syco Entertainment, FremantleMedia and NBCUniversal, the producers and network behind “AGT” Season 14.

Union claimed that while she was on “AGT” Season 14, she was harassed and discriminated against because she was African-American. She had reported these problems and experienced retaliation for doing so, she claimed.

“Union, a black woman, was singled out due to her physical appearance and discriminated against by NBC due to the fact that her hair did not fit within the white image that NBC apparently sought to convey to the audience of ‘AGT,” the complaint stated. It also said a network executive and a show producer informed her manager that her hair was “too wild” so it needed to be “toned down.”

Crews stood by his statement on black supremacy. He even called those call him a coon black supremists.

“I compare that tweet to cussin’ in church because what’s wild is, you have the message but if you use a cuss word, nobody is really hearing what you’re saying,” Crews said in an episode of “The Speak.” “The cuss word I used in this instance was ‘black supremacy,’ and this is what I really want to reiterate and explain. What I said was, defeating white supremacy without white people could create black supremacy.”
