Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Sharifa Mangatong Areef Mohammad Omar Akeel, 22, is still active on social media. However, she has yet to either deny or confirm the allegation that she is the mistress of Esmael “Toto” Gaguil Mangudadatu, 51.
Since 2019, Mangudadatu has been serving as the representative of the second district of Maguindanao, Philippines. He is married to former beauty queen Mylene Mariam “Mai” Aguilar Maligaya Mangudadatu, 32, of Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, Philippines.
On June 26, 2020, Mai appeared on the TV5 show “Wanted sa Radyo” hosted by Raffy Tulfo. She accused Toto of having an affair with Akeel.
According to Tulfo, Akeel initially agreed to appear on “Wanted sa Radyo.” However, she later on ignored the calls of the show’s staff.
While millions of Filipinos are waiting for Akeel’s response, she continues to update her social media pages without responding to Mai’s accusations. On June 28, 2020, Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 took to Facebook to advise her followers to always choose kindness.
Akeel has been working as a human relations officer at the congressional office of Sultan Kudarat after her reign as Miss Asia Pacific International 2018. She recently shared to her followers some photos of her activities helping new coronavirus (COVID-19) frontliners in Mindanao, Philippines particularly in Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato.
Born to a Qatari-Iranian father and a Filipino mother in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, Philippines on July 24, 1997, Akeel raised by her maternal grandmother. She attended the Notre Dame of Salaman College in Lebak where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
On September 16, 2018, Akeel was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
