Muhammad “The Punisher” Mokaev, 20, of England and Russia defeated Glenn McVeigh, 23, of Northern Ireland in the bantamweight division at “BRAVE CF 37.” It was named the best bout of the evening so the duo was compensated with a Fight of the Night bonus from BRAVE Combat Federation president Mohammed Shahid.

More than seven fighters had refused to fight Mokaev at  “BRAVE CF 37,” which BRAVE CF held in partnership with Swedish mixed martial arts promotion Bulldog Fight Night (BFN) in Stockholm, Sweden on August 1, 2020. McVeigh signed on to fight on two days’ notice.

Mokaev was dominant throughout showing flashes of his brilliant cage control as well as perfect takedown timing while McVeigh had a few moments to let the world know that when he has a full camp under his belt, he will be a problem for all bantamweights. After three five-minute rounds, referee Kevin Sataki raised the hand of the Dagestani-English contender who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

As an amateur fighter, Mokaev has 23 wins and 0 loss and after “BRAVE CF 37,” he now holds a professional MMA record of 1 win and 0 loss. The MMA community has also labeled him as the next Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov.

Hungry and ready for more, Mokaev asked for a quick turnaround. He publicly stated he wanted to fight as soon as possible, preferably in one of the upcoming BRAVE CF cards in Europe within the next weeks and Shahid listened carefully.

Shahid was impressed by Mokaev’s potential and McVeigh’s prompt response and willingness to fight the undefeated Dagestani-English MMA fighter at “BRAVE CF 37.” The BRAVE CF president then made two announcements.

“BRAVE CF 40” will take place in Poland on September 5, 2020, which marks the Bahrain-based MMA promotion’s first event in the country. Shahid confirmed that Mokaev will be in this card but the opponent has yet to be announced.

Moreover, Shahid thanked McVeigh for his bravery and his heart display inside the cage. With this, the Northern Irish MMA fighter was given a BRAVE CF contract.

MvVeigh’s next fight has yet to be confirmed. But at this point, he is the best opponent to face Mokaev at “BRAVE CF 40.”

Before going to Poland, BRAVE CF has two more events, which are “BRAVE CF 38” on August 8, 2020 and “BRAVE CF 39” on August 15, 2020. Like “BRAVE CF 37,” both events will take place  in Stockholm in partnership with BFN.
