Craig MacIntyre, 25, of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom knows that some huge fights will be on the horizon for him in the super-lightweight division. The undefeated Scottish boxer is set to face Ishmael Ellis, 29, of Birmingham, West Midlands, England, U.K. at “MTK Fight Night” at Production Park Studios in South Kirkby, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England.
A win for the Glasgow man could pave the way for some big domestic battles in the near future. He is adamant there will not be any slip ups against Ellis.
“I think a win here puts me right in there with the big names in the division and that’s exactly where I want to be,” MacIntyre said. “I can’t look past Ellis on Wednesday but this could catapult me into some big title fights.”
MacIntyre holds a professional boxing record of 11 wins, 0 loss and 1 draw. Ellis has 11 wins and 2 losses.
“We were meant to fight Darren Surtees before Ishmael Ellis stepped in but I’ve had to remain fully focused,” MacIntyre said. “Surtees is definitely one for the future as nothing has changed. When I got offered that fight I said yes straight away, because I want to be in big fights.”
“I think it’s going to be a bit weird without fans but at the end of the day I’ve got a job to do and when you get into that ring it’s just you and your opponent anyway,” the undefeated Scottish boxer continued. “I’ll block it out and get the job done.”
The upcoming “MTK Fight Night” show at Production Park Studios will be headlined by Jono Carroll vs Maxi Hughes. Also on the fight card are Sean McComb vs Siar Ozgul, Sahir Iqbal vs Maredudd Thomas and Pierce O’Leary vs Jacob Quinn.
It kicks off a brilliant run of “MTK Fight Night” events throughout the summer. Lewis Crocker, Lee McGregor, Gary Cully, Akeem Ennis Brown and Dan Azeez are expected to be in action over the coming months.
