Ozgul has not had to look far for motivation heading into his showdown with McComb. The Turkish-English boxer revealed how his family inspired him to keep training throughout lockdown amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The restrictions during lockdown made it a tough time for Ozgul but he has opened up on how the tight-knit bond he has with his fiance and the rest of his family have helped him prepare for McComb. The Hackney resident said, “It wasn’t easy staying at home when the gyms were closed but I had my fiance next to me and we kept training together.”

“It’s very important to have someone who will support you in any situation,” Ozgul shared. “We had to adapt to the situation and train outside or at home with what I had but whatever happens there can be no excuses, I’ve had to stay sharp. It’s life and we have to get on with it.”

“The rest of my family is back in Turkey and thankfully they’ve all been good during this time,” Ozgul continued. “Now, I’m fully focused on my fight with McComb.”
