Amin “Fierceness” Ayoub, 24, of Nantes, France is the new lightweight champion of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion BRAVE Combat Federation. The Tunisian-French MMA fighter earned the title at “BRAVE CF 44.”
Featuring two amateur MMA bouts and six professional MMA fights, “BRAVE CF 44” took place at the Bahrain National Stadium in East Riffa, Bahrain on November 5, 2020. In the main event of the evening, Ayoub challenged then reigning BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion Cleiton “Predator” Silva, 33, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Declan Larkin served as the referee. He put a stop to the title bout after 1 minute and 23 seconds in the fourth round when Ayoub knocked out Silva via punches.
Including Bahrain, France and Brazil, a total of 14 countries were represented at “BRAVE CF 44.” The others were Austria, Denmark, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia and South Africa.
Ayoub was one of the two fighters who represented France. Silva was one of the two representatives of Brazil.
Winning at “BRAVE CF 44” improved Ayoub’s professional MMA record to 15 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Silva now has 15 wins and 3 losses.
Training out of Bulgarian Top Team in Sofia, Bulgaria, Ayoub made his BRAVE CF debut on December 7, 2019 at “BRAVE CF 31” in Durban, South Africa where he submitted Djamil “Dynamite” Chan, 30, of the Netherlands. “BRAVE CF 44” marked the Tunisian-French MMA fighter’s second outing in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.
“BRAVE CF 44” marked Silva’s first title defense as the BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion. When he signed with BRAVE CF in 2018, he knocked out Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir, 28, of Egypt at “BRAVE CF 11” and submitted Marcelo “Chelo” Bustos, 29, of Catamarca, Argentina at “BRAVE CF 15.”
The two victories earned Silva a title shot. He successfully dethroned then BRAVE CF Lightweight Champion Luan “Miau” Santiago, 35, of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil at “BRAVE CF 25” on August 30, 2019.
