Natalia Piguła, 26, will represent Poland in Miss Universe 2020. Hailing from Łódź, Poland, she will be the European country’s 37th representative in the international beauty pageant, which was formed on June 28, 1952.

Pigula is a model, a businesswoman and an engineer. She was runner-up to Miss Polski 2019 Magdalena Kasiborska, 20, of Silesia, Poland.

Hosted by Agnieszka Popielewicz, Krzysztof Ibisz, Paulina Sykut-Jeżyna and Zygmunt Chajzer, the Miss Polski 2019 coronation night was held in Katowice, Poland on December 8, 2019. Kasiborska and Pigula competed against 22 other candidates.

Due to a herniated disc, Kasiborska will not be able to compete in Miss Universe 2020. On March 24, 2021, Pigula was officially announced as the replacement.

In 2013, Pigula represented Poland in Miss Intercontinental and finished in the Top 15. She was also Reinado Internacional del Café 2020 third runner-up.

If Pigula wins Miss Universe 2020, she will be the beauty pageant’s first ever winner from Poland. Representing the country, Brygida Bziukiewicz and Joanna Gapińska were third runner-up in the beauty pageant in 1986 and in 1989, respectively, whileAlicja Bobrowska was fourth runner-up in 1958.

Including Pigula, there are now 74 candidates confirmed to compete in Miss Universe 2020. Among her strongest competitions are Miqueal-Symone Williams, 23, of Jamaica, Sarita Reth, 25, of Cambodia, Nova Stevens, 27, of Canada, Bianca Lorena Tirsin, 22, of Romania and Maria Thattil, 27, of Australia.

Based in New York City, New York, United States, the Miss Universe Organization is currently owned by the WME/IMG talent agency. Besting 89 other candidates, Zozibini Tunzi, 27, of South Africa was crowned Miss Universe 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on December 8, 2019.

The Miss Universe 2020 coronation ceremony was not held in 2020 due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, making Tunzi the longest reigning Miss Universe. She will pass her crown at the Miss Universe 2020 coronation night at 8:00 p.m. ET on May 16, 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida, USA.
