Brian Laundrie, Gabby Petito met Kylen Schulte, Crystal Turner in Moab, Utah?

Crystal Michelle Turner, 38, Kylen Carrol Schulte, 24, Brian Laundrie, 23, and Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito, 22, were all in Moab, Utah, United States on August 13, 2021. Not all of them were residents of the city.

Originally from Vail, Colorado, USA, Schulte moved to Moab on January 27, 2016. In 2018, she started working for the Moonflower Community Cooperative in Moab as a cashier.

On March 13, 2019, Schulte started dating Turner, who was originally from Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA. In April 2021, they got married, turned their van into a camper and frequently camped out in the Utah mountains.

Laundrie and Petito attended Bayport-Blue Point High School in Bayport, New York, USA together. Originally from Blue Point, New York, she moved in with him in his home in North Port, Florida, USA when they started dating in 2019.

In July 2020, Laundrie and Petito got engaged. On July 17, 2021, they started their cross-country camping trip and travelled across the U.S. in a white 2012 Ford Transit van.

On August 12, 2021, Petito took to Instagram to share photos taken at Arches National Park in Utah. That day, a witness called 911 after seeing her and Laundrie fighting near the Moonflower Community Cooperative.

Moab Police Department officers later located Laundrie and Petito’s van and pulled it over. For more than 1 hour, Laundrie and Petito told the officers why they fought earlier that day but in the end, they said they were in love and they did not want charges pressed.

Laundrie spent the night in a hotel while Petito stayed with their van. On August 13, 2021, they travelled to Moab.

From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on August 13, 2021, Schulte and Turner were at Woody’s Tavern in Moab, where they were semi-regular customers. They reportedly told their friends that night that there was a creep staying next to them.

On August 14, 2021, Schulte and Turner were seen driving a silver KIA in Moab. That was the last time they were seen alive.

On August 18, 2021, a family friend named Cindy Sue Hunter found Schulte and Turner dead in the La Sal Mountains, the second highest range in Utah. Both Schulte and Turner had gunshot wounds.

On August 19, 2021, Petito uploaded a YouTube video featuring a glimpse into her van adventures with Laundrie. While they were in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah on August 21, 2021, her father Joseph “Joe” Petito placed an Uber Eats order for her because she did not have WiFi due to power outage.

On August 24, 2021, Laundrie and Gabby checked out of a hotel in Salt Lake City, the last place where she was seen. On August 25, 2021, she called her mother Nichole Schmidt via FaceTime and said she was in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, USA.

On August 30, 2021, Schmidt received text messages sent from Gabby’s phone but the mother was not sure whether or not it was her daughter who sent them. On September 1, 2021, Laundrie drove their white 2012 Ford Transit van alone back to North Port and on September 10, 2021, the van was recovered at his family’s home.

On September 11, 2021, Schmidt reported Gabby missing to the Suffolk County Police Department. On September 15, 2021, the North Port Police Department named Laundrie a person of interest in the investigation and said he was not cooperating with authorities.

Gabby is still missing and the killer or killers of Turner and Schulte is or are still unknown. Meanwhile, authorities are actively looking into any connection between Gabby’s disappearance and the murders of Turner and Schulte.

Anyone with information about Gabby Petito’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
