Beatrice Luigi “Bea” Gallarde Gomez is a Filipino model, athlete and beauty queen. Her favorite sport is volleyball and she enjoys scuba diving, boxing and mixed martial arts.

Born in San Fernando, Cebu, Philippines, Gomez studied mass communication at the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, Philippines. An athletic scholar, she was a member of the university’s varsity volleyball team.

Gomez’s first cousin Rizzini Alexis Camlian Gomez, who was crowned Miss Tourism International 2012 in Malaysia, died of lymphoma on October 13, 2015. Rizzini’s father Roel Gomez is a former Philippine Basketball Association player.

  1. She is Miss Cebu City Olympics 2010.
  2. From January 2010 to October 2020, she worked for AD Models Philippines in Cebu as a fashion model.
  3. She is Miss Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) 2012 and Mutya ng Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) 2012 Region VII.
  4. In 2015, she and Kate Jagdon started dating. They have a cat named Twix.
  5. On May 7, 2015, she competed against 11 other candidates at Miss Mandaue 2015 at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex in Mandaue City, Philippines. She was second runner-up, losing to first runner-up Cynthia Thomalla and winner Ena Louis Velasco.
  6. From July 2016 to June 2019, she worked for the local government unit of Mandaue City as a private secretary to the city’s then mayor Gabriel Luis “Luigi” Romualdez Quisumbing.
  7. In November 2019, she started volunteering for Sugbo Charity Foundation, Inc.
  8. On January 13, 2020, she represented San Fernando at Binibining Cebu 2020 and competed against 54 other candidates at the Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Cebu City. She won the title along with the Best in Swimwear, Miss Foton and Miss Body Worx Medical Spa awards. She is the first ever openly gay Binibining Cebu.

  10. In January 2021, she completed the basic citizens military course training that allowed her to be part of the Philippine Navy Reserve Unit as a corporal.

On September 30, 2021, she represented Cebu City at Miss Universe Philippines 2021 and competed against 27 other finalists at the Henann Resort Convention Center at the Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol, Philippines. She won the title along with the Miss Luxxe ImmunPlus Game Changer, Best in Evening Gown and Best in Swimsuit awards.
  12. She was 26 years old when she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021. On December 12, 2021, she represented the Philippines at Miss Universe 2021 and competed against 79 other candidates in Eilat, Israel. She is the Philippines’ first ever openly bisexual Miss Universe candidate. She finished in the Top 5.
  13. On April 30, 2022, she crowned her successor Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
