Miss Universe 2022 will be crowned at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on January 14, 2023. It is the 71st edition of the international beauty pageant headquartered in New York, United States and Samut Prakan, Thailand.

On October 26, 2022, JKN Global Group acquired the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) from Endeavor Group Holdings-owned IMG Worldwide at $14 million. This made Anne Jakrajutatip the first transgender woman to own the organization.

Representing India, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu was 21 when she was crowned Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel on December 12, 2021. The respective first and second runners-up were Nadia Ferreira, then 22, of Paraguay and Lalela Mswane, then 24, of South Africa.

A total of 84 women will compete for the Miss Universe 2022 crown by Mouawad also called The Crown Number 12: Force for Good. After watching the preliminary competition on January 11, 2023, I picked the candidates who I believe will make it to the Top 16:
