Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 24, of the Philippines is the longest reigning BRAVE Combat Federation. He became the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion’s inaugural champion in the bantamweight division in 2017 by defeating Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Mangat, 32, of India and Canada.

Training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines, Loman successfully defended his belt four times. From 2018 to 2019, Frans “The Black Mamba” Mlambo, 29, of Ireland, Felipe Efrain, 24, of Brazil, Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 26, of France and Louie “Leonidas” Sanoudakis, 31, of Canada failed to dethrone the Igorot MMA champion.

While on hiatus due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Loman divided his time training and serving the community by volunteering alongside his mother Naty Nabehet Loman in Ifugao. Leaving the bantamweight division of BRAVE CF to face new challenges could be a way for the Igorot MMA fighter to step it up a notch once he returns to the cage.

Some BRAVE CF fans want to see Loman compete in the featherweight division and win the belt there. However, he in a recent a live chat for the BRAVE CF IG Takeover Series, he explained why he does not see himself leaving his current division anytime soon.

“I don’t think I’m changing weight-classes anytime soon,” Loman said. “I know what my strengths are and how they translate against bantamweights, what techniques I should use and how to implement them against men of my size. I don’t think I’ll change that anytime soon.”

Loman guaranteed that he is ready to go for his fifth title defense as soon as BRAVE CF announces the next events in its calendar. He said he has been able to train every day even though he was quarantined.

“I have been able to train constantly throughout the lockdown period,” the reigning BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion shared. “I do cardio and technique training every day and I’m ready to fight and defend my title once again.”

Under BRAVE CF, Loman has six wins in as many outings, including his latest title defense. He spoke of his gratitude for the promotion as he has transformed into one of the rising stars of MMA through his undefeated status with the promotion.

“I believe BRAVE CF has done all the right moves to become the fastest growing MMA organization in the world and reach a high-level in the industry,” Loman said. “It has given a proper platform for fighters like myself to showcase their talents and I’m forever thankful for BRAVE CF for making me a world champion.”
