MTK Global has partnered with Remote Trauma, a global specialist in safety and health risk management. The latter will provide extensive new coronavirus (COVID-19) testing for the upcoming “MTK Fight Night” events throughout the summer.
The “MTK Fight Night” events will be held at the LS-Live in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom and will be broadcast live in the United States on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and worldwide on IFL TV. MTK Global chief strategy officer Paul Gibson said, “The health and safety of the fighters and everyone else involved is always our top priority when staging live boxing events but the current pandemic conditions have posed many new and unfamiliar challenges so we’re delighted to partner with Remote Trauma and benefit from their experience and expertise.”
Remote Trauma’s COVID-19 Media Solutions (CMS) service will heavily monitor the “MTK Fight Night” events, which will take place on August 12, 2020, on August 26, 2020 and September 2, 2020. The service devises and delivers innovative, robust safety processes, enabling promotions to responsibly recommence events while minimizing the risk of COVID-19 contraction and transmission.
Specialist nurse Leonie Monet is one of the safety and health risk management experts in Remote Trauma who have previously worked with leading broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. She said, “We’re proud to be teaming with MTK Global to help keep their events safe.”
“CMS has been instrumental in getting TV production back up and running over the last few months and we’re pleased to now bring that knowledge to these shows,” Monet continued. “Our team of specialists are experts in the field and we know that testing is absolutely the only way forward to ensure that the safety of everyone is adhered to.”
The CMS specialist team includes experienced scientists, doctors, nurses, paramedics and professional safety advisors. Every one of these individuals has worked on the frontline during the national emergency and has acquired significant hands-on experience in dealing with COVID-19.
Jono Carroll vs Maxi Hughes will headline the first “MTK Fight Night” event this summer. Also on the fight card are Sean McComb vs Siar Ozgul, Craig MacIntyre vs Ishmael Ellis, Pierce O’Leary vs Jacob Quinn and Sahir Iqbal vs Maredudd Thomas for the vacant World Boxing Council Youth Welterweight title.
