Ellen Elizabeth “Elle” Smith is a journalist, a model and a beauty queen from Germantown, Kentucky, United States. She is he is 5’10” tall.

Born in Springfield, Ohio, USA, Smith is Lydia Smith‘s daughter. Elle and Miss Ohio Teen USA 2013 Brittany Reid were high school classmates.

  1. In 2016, she graduated from Shawnee High School in Springfield. Aside from being an honors student, she participated in the school’s choir, drama, orchestra and volleyball activities.
  2. From August 2017 to August 2019, she worked for Southeastern Conference in Lexington as a production student crew member.
  3. In 2018, she studied journalist and political science at the Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy.
  4. From May 2018 to August 2018, she was a videography intern at Camp Ozark in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA.
  5. From January 2019 to August 2019, she was an intern at WLEX-TV in Lexington.
  6. From May 2019 to August 019, she worked as a college associate in Fox News‘s bureau in Washington, D.C., USA.
  7. From August 2019 to October 2020, she was the vice president of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) chapter of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky and a communication and public relations intern at the university.
  8. In May 2020, she graduated from the University of Kentucky’s School of Journalism and Media with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science.
  9. In October 2020, she started working as a reporter at WHAS11 News, an ABC-affiliated television station licensed to Louisville. In December 2020, she committed to competing at Miss Kentucky USA 2021.
  10. On May 22, 2021, she represented Germantown at Miss Kentucky USA 2021 at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, Kentucky and won the title. It was her first beauty pageant.
  11. On November 29, 2021, she represented Kentucky at Miss USA 2021 and competed against 50 other candidates at the Paradise Cove Theater of the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. She won the title.
  12. She was 23 years old when she was crowned Miss USA 2021. On December 12, 2021, she represented the U.S. at Miss Universe 2021 and competed against 79 other candidates in Eilat, Israel. She finished in the Top 10.
  13. On October 3, 2022, she crowned her successor Miss USA 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Washoe County, Nevada, USA.
