Beatrice Luigi “Bea” Gallarde Gomez is a Filipino model, athlete and beauty queen. She represented the Philippines in the 70th edition of Miss Universe.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in San Fernando, Cebu, Philippines, Gomez studied mass communication at the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, Philippines. An athletic scholar, she was a member of the university’s varsity volleyball team.

Gomez’s first cousin Rizzini Alexis Camlian Gomez, who was crowned Miss Tourism International 2012 in Malaysia, died of lymphoma on October 13, 2015. Rizzini’s father Roel Gomez is a former Philippine Basketball Association player.

  • On May 7, 2015, she competed against 11 other candidates at Miss Mandaue 2015 at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex in Mandaue City, Philippines. She was second runner-up and Cynthia Thomalla was runner-up to Ena Louis Velasco.

2020

  • On January 13, 2020, she represented San Fernando at Binibining Cebu 2020 and competed against 54 other candidates at the Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Cebu City. She won the title along with the Best in Swimwear, Miss Foton and Miss Body Worx Medical Spa awards. She is the first ever openly gay Binibining Cebu.
  • In February 2020, she helped Children’s Shelter of Cebu as a fundraiser.
  • On October 30, 2020, she became the president of the Rotaract Club of Metro Mandaue 2006.

2021

  • In January 2021, she completed the basic citizens military course training that allowed her to be part of the Philippine Navy Reserve Unit as a corporal.
  • On September 30, 2021, she represented Cebu City at Miss Universe Philippines 2021 and competed against 27 other finalists at the Henann Resort Convention Center at the Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol, Philippines. She won the title along with the Miss Luxxe ImmunPlus Game Changer, Best in Evening Gown and Best in Swimsuit awards.
  • On December 12, 2021, she represented the Philippines at Miss Universe 2021 and competed against 79 other candidates in Eilat, Israel. She is the Philippines’ first ever openly bisexual Miss Universe candidate. She finished in the Top 5.
